She joined in 1999 the cast of the CBS soap show Guiding Light as Theresa Sandoval. In 1996 she made her film debut in films with a minor performance as a minor character in Girl 6. She then appeared for the first time in New York Undercover episodes and The District. Navedo appeared on Double Take, an action-comedy film in 2001. The drama Washington Heights was released the one year following. From 2001 until 2004 Navedo was a frequent character on the NBC crime show Law & Order as Detective Ana Cordova.
